Intermission (“the app”) is developed by Alex Greene / Kaleidoscope (“we,” “us”). This policy explains what information is collected when you use this website and the Intermission app for macOS, and how it’s handled.

The app

Intermission runs entirely on your Mac. It does not require an account, does not transmit your activity to us or to any third party, and does not collect personal information. Any settings, streaks, or schedule data the app keeps are stored locally on your device and are never uploaded anywhere.

If a future version of the app requests system permissions (for example, to detect calls or screen sharing so it can pause breaks), that access is used solely on-device to decide when to show a break, and is never logged, stored remotely, or shared.

This website

This site uses Umami, a privacy-focused analytics tool, to understand aggregate traffic (such as page views and referrers). Umami does not use cookies and does not collect personally identifiable information — it cannot and does not track you individually or across other websites.

We don’t run advertising, retargeting, or third-party tracking scripts on this site.

App Store purchases

Intermission is sold through the Mac App Store. Purchases, payment details, and receipts are handled entirely by Apple under Apple’s Privacy Policy. We never see or receive your payment information.

Data sharing

We do not sell, rent, or share any data with third parties, because we don’t collect personal data to begin with.

Children’s privacy

This app and website are not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from children.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, we’ll update the date at the top of this page. Continued use of the app or website after changes means you accept the updated policy.
